Our Groups
Little Lambs Day Nursery has three dedicated age groups. When your little one begins their journey at Little Lambs, whatever age they may be they will be assigned a keyperson who will oversee their learning and development.
You will get the opportunity to meet your child’s keyperson at your initial settling in session, where you will get to share with them all they need to know about your precious little one. Our children are split into different age groups as detailed below.
Babies 0–2 Years Old
Childcare for babies is provided in our beautiful baby unit with access to their own garden. Babies are cared for with the utmost attention, ensuring a nurturing and supportive environment for their early development.
Attachment is an important part of a child’s development, and we ensure your child has good continuity of care. Our staff are specially selected with skills and qualifications in this area and are experienced in supporting our youngest children to feel secure and loved. Information is shared with you daily through the ‘Famly’ app.
Routine is very important for our little ones; we therefore offer a settling in session where we collect all information regarding bottle and sleep routines etc to enable us to mirror your routines within our setting.
Toddlers 2 Years Old
Our 2-year-old group are given a wide range of stimulating, challenging and exciting activities to choose from.
The children in this age group are always on the go and enjoy lots of opportunities for physical and outdoor play.
At this age we start to encourage independence skills during snack time. Often during this age your child may take an interest in potty training, we will support you and your child at the stage and follow your approach.
Preschool 3-5 Years Old
Throughout the day in pre-school, we encourage children to engage in messy play, arts and crafts, story time and lots of physical play in their own garden. Our children are heavily involved in their own learning and we promote independence.
We encourage the children to prepare their own snacks as well as helping out at meal times. They learn about boundaries and expectations as part of their daily routines which will help prepare them for school.
Finally, parents and children are invited to attend our fabulous graduation ceremony before they head off to Reception Class.
